Reply with quote | #1 | The passage reads 16-Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spir'it of God dwelleth in you? 17-If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy;for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
It would seem that if you sin God will destroy you. I know that's not it. But don't quite get it. |

Reply with quote | #2 | 1 Corinthians 3: 16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 1 Corinthians 3: 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. If these two verses were talking about sin, then there would be no church (the body of Christ) because we would all be dead. The word "ye" in the King James Bible is plural. So, verse 16 is talking about the body of Christ (the church). Verse 17 is talking about "any man", singular. If any man defile (destroy) the body of Christ (the church), him shall God destroy.
