Did the kingdom church in Acts 2-7 become a part of the Body of Christ after Paul shared the gospel of grace with the apostles. 2Peter;3 would indicate that Peter understood. In Ephesians 3:6 they are called the body also???

The passage reads 16-Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spir'it of God dwelleth in you?
17-If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy;for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

It would seem that if you sin God will destroy you. I know that's not it. But don't quite get it.

(a) The "Lord" tempted David . . . 2 SAMUEL 24:1
or "Satan" provoked David . . . 1 CHRONICLES 21:1

(b) 700 or 7000? "Horsemen" or "Footmen" . . .? 2 SAMUEL 10:18 vs 1
CHRONICLES 19:18

(c) Solomon had 2000 baths or 3000 baths? 1 KINGS 7:26 vs 2
CHRONICLES 4:5

(d) Solomon had 4000 stalls of horses or 40000? 2 CHRONICLES 9:25 vs
1 KINGS 4:26

(e) Did Saul inquire of the Lord or didn't he? 1 SAMUEL 28:6 vs 1
CHRONICLES 10:13-14

(f) Heaven, no man hath ascended JOHN 3:13
Contradicted by: 2 KINGS 2:11 Elijah ascended, and GENESIS 5:24
Enoch ascended.

(g) Jesus lost "None" of his disciples JOHN 18:9
Contradicted by: He lost only "One" JOHN 17:12

Many Wives of Patriarchs and Kings?

After all of these years of Bible study, I still do not have any light on why many of the old testament saints had multiple wives at the same time and yet had the blessings of God upon them. This is especially curious in regard to those who were under the law such as David and Solomon. What have I missed? Does any one have any light on this?

I just saw the movie "Zeitgeist". The first 20 minutes or so are a pretty harsh indictment of Christianity. Their views are:

Jesus did not really exist, he was another iteration of the sun god Horace.
Horace had 12 disciples, died, rose from the dead, etc.
Christianity is sun worship.
The story of the resurrection is figurative, it is a picture of the winter solstice where the sun drops to its lowest point, stays there for three days, then rises by 1 degree on December 25.
Jesus represents the age of Pisces (the fish) symbolized by the fishermen Jesus chose as disciples, feeding multitudes with fish, and the fish symbol we see today. The next "age" will begin in 2150 which will be the age of Aquarius. This all relates to the sun's position with regards to the constellations of the zodiac.
Religion is nothing more than a method used to control people.
The mother-son/virgin birth story existed well before Mary/Jesus in Egypt and other cultures.
Etc.

I know that Jesus was not born on December 25. He wasn't even born in winter. The bible does not even mention December 25 with regards to Christ's birth. The filmmakers, unfamiliar with the bible, are using this date against us without realizing that it is not a biblical date.

I saw on another website that the story of Horace indicates that he had 4 disciples, not 12, and that he was not resurrected. I don't take the film's claims or historical accuracy at face value.

They did, however, have a lot of citations from scripture. They did some research. That is evident. My question is, how do we confront these teachings? Obviously, other people are seeing this film, mostly unbelievers. How do I answer these charges, for myself and others?

Feel free to forward this to Richard Jordan as well. I don't feel like re-typing the whole thing and I would like his input as well.

Why KJV?

Hi, your message board is helpful. I have a question about bible translations. I'm new to the grace message and am used to other translations. I've heard on different paltalk, etc. messages that we should use the KJB. My problem is that sometimes where other translations use the word "justice" the KJB uses the word "judgment" (for example, Amos Ch5 v. 24). Are the people being judged or given justice? Maybe others can discern when judgment means judgment and when judgment means justice in the KJB but I can't. When I try to read the Psalms or Proverbs there are many expressions that just don't make sense (for example, Proverbs 8 v. 12, "I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions." What is witty inventions (it's not in Webster's 1828)? There are so many expressions in the KJB that I have no idea about what they mean that I have to look in another translation to see what the expression means. Webster's helps with some of the words but there are many words in the KJB that I need to know but are not in Webster's.

If I stay with the KJB how can I get the help I need to understand the many expressions and words that I can't find or look-up in a dictionary?

Israel Couldn't Keep The Law--Only Grace Would Save Them Too

Dear Itchyear Board,

I wanted to ask a question about the assumption that God's relationship to man changes. My undersanding of dispensationalism is that God works different ways at different times. Most midacts pastors seem to think that it was through obedience to law in the OT and faith in Christ alone in the NT. A works vs. faith distinction. But I don't understand this--we know that Israel could not keep the law even if it tried! God always had to step-in and offer them grace for their offenses. Why do dispensationalists think that God relates to men differently at different times when the all-time-necessary-intervention by God to men is through grace? Since grace was always necessary for forgiveness, why isn't the age of grace not only now but was there in the OT as well?
